SPCC COMPLIANCE

Petroleum marketers using aboveground storage tanks in excess of 1,320 gallons have about one year remaining to comply with the revised Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) rules. Marketers will need to revise existing spill plans and implement physical changes to property and equipment no later than October 31, 2007. EPA has proposed the deadline be extended until 2009. PMAA will inform members as soon as a decision is made. PMAA, with assistance from the North Carolina Petroleum Marketers Association, has developed a model SPCC to assist with compliance.
